Xiaogang Xiang is a Chinese computer/electronic music composer, sounder designer, and music producer who received his bachelor's degree from Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, and his master's degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Electroacoustic music, live electronics, and electronic dance music are among his most notable works. His works primarily explore the meaning and value of sound, the organic integration of acoustic instruments and electronic music, tone colors, and the electronic exploration of animal sounds. His works have been staged in the United States, China, and Taiwan.

As a Max Certified Trainer, Xiaogang is dedicated to promoting and popularizing Max/MSP in major Chinese institutions and colleges. His unique understanding and teaching methods in the field of Max/MSP have helped many Chinese students gain admission to top music institutions in the United States, including the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Berklee School of Music, Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and many more. With the assistance of Treain, Xiaogang's Max/MSP creative programming series teaching videos have been posted on major Chinese internet platforms and are still being updated.
In terms of Max music works, Xiaogang Xiang's The Impression of Jiazhou was successfully premiered at the Jacobs School of Music Auer Hall. This piece is real-time interactive music for alto saxophone, PS5 controller, and Max/MSP, in which Xiaogang uses PS5 controllers as the control surface to control the self-made music processing modules in Max. Meanwhile, these modules process and render the Alto Saxophone's sound. He also explored the frequency domain of sound and used multiple MSP modules to create the Spectral Saturation effect. During his 7 years of Max learning and teaching experience, Xiaogang has continuously explored the various sound possibilities in Max, integrating a large number of creative sound synthesis methods and creative digital sound processing techniques, some of which can be used in Max for live.
